Danish pop/rock music
1. Carpark North - classic pop/rock with an electronic edge. Addictive.
2. The Ravonettes - more laid-back than I expected, but it's growing on me.
3. Nice Little Penguins - have only heard clips, but sounding good, and who could resist the name... Just got to find a record shop here that has their albums in stock...
And not Danish, but still worth a mention:
4. Kent - solid, whether they're singing in Swedish or English. Reliably good. Their site is all in Swedish, but they have clips of a lot of tracks up and it's well worth a listen
For a really thorough looks at the world of Nordic pop/rock music, It's a trap! is great, as is For the Easrdrums, which is not just Nordic/Scandi stuff, but does a fair amount on it - and the mixtapes for download are excellent.
And... seeing as the pure camp of the Eurovision is upon us tomorrow, it'd be rude not to mention it - all the details are available here, including clips of each song - try out Moldova's Zdob shi Zdub's entry - but it won't win...
