Mental Wanderlust...

An eclectic mix of mainly Central Asian and former Soviet Union news, plus a few weirdities and random articles that have caught my eye while wandering through the internet. Occasionally personal, mostly topical, generally intelligible, infrequently ranty and sometimes even entertaining - for a certain target demographic, at least... This blog is currently mothballed and currently (March 2010) I do not have any intention to start it up again. This may however change in the future.

View from Bishkek

Finally gotten round to getting some photos of Bishkek posted. Not particularly exciting, other than the fact that the ones of the Belyi Dom, or White House (the main government building) were taken from the fifth floor of Ilbirs, a former knitwear factory where half of KRSU's International Relations faculty is now based. Quite a view... This isn't all the photos, but it has already taken an hour to get these uploaded and my patience for watching litle bars at the bottom of the window is waning. Another time, maybe...
